In my notes after Drive to Zero, I kept coming back to energy contractualisation for electric-truck depots. Could a power purchase agreement be part of making a depot viable?
It was an early question. I still needed to understand which arrangements already existed, who would sign, and how the risk would be shared.
What interested me was the shift in where to look for an intervention. A tool can help a fleet understand its costs. An agreement might change some of the conditions behind those costs. Those are different jobs, and they lead to different businesses.
I would want to ask a fleet operator what uncertainty is stopping a decision, then ask the energy supplier what commitment would make that uncertainty easier to resolve. The mismatch between those answers seems worth investigating.
The question I would take into the next conversation is quite specific: which risk could an energy agreement actually remove, and who would be prepared to carry it?
